POSITION PURPOSE:  Stage product and supplies for production department to help reduce machine down time.  Deliver finished product to warehouse in appropriate manner to ensure timely shipment of product.  Maintain accurate inventory levels in the computer system by issuing and returning material to their proper bin locations. 

 

QUANTITATIVE DATA:  Continuous lifting, moving, standing, and handling of production materials and equipment.  Must have the capability of lifting up to 55 lbs. intermittently throughout the shift.  Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending. Sufficient vision acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts/labels produced.  Ability to drive a fork lift truck and use a pallet jack.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Pull material, material certifications & boxes and cut cores as indicated on the job list and/or job traveler or work instructions; staging all material in a floor bin location, close to the production operator.  Using a pallet jack or forklift truck as needed.
  2. Utilize company’s computer software to perform essential functions (ie: finding location of material, moving material, receiving material, etc.) to maintain accurate inventory levels; documenting movements on travelers or work instructions as needed.
  3. Physically combine materials in bins, consolidating as needed to reduce the duplication in various bins.  Clean and organize bins.  Using a pallet jack or forklift truck as needed.
  4. Move completed jobs to the warehouse area for shipping, ensuring that customer ship dates are met. 
  5. Work as a team with production team leaders & machine operators to ensure that customer’s orders are completed in a timely and accurate manor.
  6. Clean department machines and work area on a daily basis.  Work as a team to ensure entire production area is clean and clutter free.
  7. Perform duties safely and maintain a high level of safety awareness.  Follow operation standards and all department policies and company directives.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in process improvements.
  2. Alert teams leader and/or the customer service department to conditions that create delays or affect quality of production work in a timely manner.
  3. Assists with other projects and tasks as required by management.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  All candidates must be able to read and write.  Previous certification as a forklift operator desirable, but not required. Minimum of one year of service at Budnick Converting, Inc. within the shipping and receiving or production department required.  Must have good communication skills and strong attention to details.

 

Day Shift Hours:  8am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday
