3M discontinued this product see Compar-A-Tape 254 is a 5.7mil, flatback paper tape primarily used for the textile industry where high strength, high holding and stain resistance are required. It has a long aging adhesive which resists adhesive softening, transfer and staining of most textiles. It also has an excellent packaging adhesive and good resistance to edge tear, both of which make it an excellent packaging tape. This tape should not be subjected to outdoor exposure or prolonged periods of sunlight. It may become very difficult to remove. Tape 254 is manufactured in an ISO 9002 registered plant to meet worldwide quality standards.
