Truck and Trailer
Budnick provides rolled goods, die-cut foam mounting tapes and foam sealants to trailer body manufacturers. These companies include truck cab, dry freight vans, intermodal containers, school buses, utility trailers, motor homes, high top vans, truck bodies, fire trucks, ambulances, horse trailers and a variety of specialty trailers.

Mounting tapes replace mechanical fasteners to create aesthetic advantages. Fewer rivets on side panels create flat continuous graphics. Further, less holes mean no catalytic corrosion and a decrease in the number of leak points. Mounting tapes require less skilled workers at a lower labor cost and increase assembly line speeds. Mounting tapes are quicker, cleaner and safer than liquid glues. They require no curing, no clean up, no heating chambers and there are no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) or other emissions.

Polyurethane closed cell mounting foams serve as fasteners when applying body panels to framing. They reduce welds by bonding diamond steel decking on fire truck floors and sides. Mounting foams eliminate messy and costly liquid adhesives when bonding roof bows to the roof skin of trailers.

Compressible PVC (closed cell) foam sealants create water, dirt, and air tight seals under the most demanding conditions. These foams are available in low, medium and high densities. PVC foams remain flexible through the hottest summers and over the coldest winters. These closed cell foams keep water out whether it is applied between the deck and hull or to the roof-to-top rail seam. "Swirl-free" structure allows the foam to maintain its seal even when riveted through. PVC foams won't get brittle, crack, dry out or drip. Pressure sensitive acrylic adhesives offer unlimited "open-time", aggressive "quick-stick", easy application and require no curing time.

A variety of foam blends and profiles of extrusions are offered to the trailer body market. Closed cell foams can be supplied in long length reels (spools) to eliminate joint gaps and increase productivity. Soft (rubber-like) properties form great seals around window units. Excellent memory and easy compression properties make these extrusions beneficial in installing wood floors in refrigerated trailers.

Polyurethane closed cell foam is excellent for sound and noise dampening. It offers a low compression set, which provides long-term sealing integrity.

Metal separation tapes are available in vinyl, polypropylene, and Mylar® (polyester) films. These products can be used between dissimilar metals to prevent corrosion.

Budnick also offers a variety of duct tapes and masking products. Most of these can be converted into user friendly parts such as: die-cuts, kiss-cut parts on a roll or long length traverse wound reels.
