Unsupported Adhesive Transfer

General Information
Unifilm® UB40 is a 4 mil, unsupported adhesive transfer. It is primarily used for nameplates, faceplates and bonding to low surface energy plastics. It is also used in foam gasketing or sound attenuation, application of decorative parts and applications where high initial adhesion is required.

Adhesive Tape Features
  • Adhesive film laminates well to a variety of substrates, including untreated polyolefins
  • Adhesive gives immediate high bonds
  • Adhesive is clear and has excellent UV resistance, and humidity resistance
  • UL recognition to UL standard #969 for Marking & Labeling Systems
  • Approved by General Electric for use of Lexan
  • Peel adhesion to stainless steel (PSTC 1 Mod./180°) 20 min. @ RT = 109 oz/in.
  • Peel adhesion to untreated polypropylene (PSTC 1 Mod./180°) 1 wk. @ 158°F (70°C) = 86oz/in
  • Holding power (PSTC 7 Mod./178°) 4.4 psi (1/2x1x1000g) @ RT = 2 hours
  • Humidity resistance % peel retention after 1 wk. @ 100°F (38°C)/100% RH = 100%
  • Water resistance % peel retention after 24 hour soak = 100%
  • Release liner systems: Single Liner: No. 4--76# Bleached lay flat; No. 5--60# Natural lay flat; No. 7--60# Bleached kraft; No. 8--80# Bleached kraft
