Polyethylene Surface Protection

General Information

A 5.0 mil. polyethylene tape with a low-tack adhesive system to help maximize surface protection for many polished metals, plastics and glass materials. 5112 tape offers excellent protection for many material surfaces that are susceptible to damage caused by abrasion and marring, (See surface protection). This product is not designed for prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods which may affect the performance of the tape.

It is essential, as with all pressure-sensitive tapes, that the surface to which the tape is applied be clean, dry and free of grease and oil.

Shelf life from date of manufacture is based on the product being stored at 70°F(21°C) / 50% relative humidity out of direct sunlight.

Specification compliance is dynamic and should only be used as a general guide. Always confirm that the tape you are interested in currently complies with all specification requirements. Please verify that the product number that you select is available in the proper size and color to meet your specification.

Choose the surface energy of the exact surface that the adhesive will contact (e.g. if the part was painted metal, paint would be the surface energy).
