3M 25A88
2.5 mil Co-Extruded Polyethylene Protective Tape

General Information
3M 25A88 is a 2.5 mil co-extruded protective tape featuring polyethylene backing and an acrylic adhesive which offers enhanced abrasion resistance for the protection of many metals and plastics. 25A88 tape offers excellent abrasion resistance to help protect many matte finished plastic laminate tops, cultured marble, many textured plastics and metals from surface damage, such as scratching and abrading, etc.. The enhanced elongation properties of the film allow the tapes to be left on during many forming operations where damage may occur. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct UV sunlight which may affect the performance of the tape. The abrasion resistance testing was conducted using ASTM test method D4060 and a Taber Abrader employing a CS-10 wheel and 1000 grams auxiliary weights.

It is essential, as with all pressure-sensitive tapes, that the surface to which the tape is applied be clean, dry and free of grease and oil.

Shelf life from date of manufacture is based on the product being stored at 70°F(21°C) / 50% relative humidity out of direct sunlight.

Specification compliance is dynamic and should only be used as a general guide. Always confirm that the tape you are interested in currently complies with all specification requirements. Please verify that the product number that you select is available in the proper size and color to meet your specification.
